Welcome to Hypernavigate,
29DEC2005
Welcome to Lou! A quite peaceful little boy who is going to keep me busy photographically
(and more) for a good while, I'm afraid...
01DEC2005
I finally managed to launch webphotomag! Each month, I put together the best
of what I came across on the web, while wandering among sites, on forums and other
encounters. No long talks about photographic techniques, no picky comparison between
this or that device: just images and photographers!
30APR2005
Starting today, this site starts to be bilingual (english and french). Technical hurdles have been
overcome and all that remains is to translate everything... A long-haul work that won't necessarily
be finished soon but is finally started! Some texts may appear in french: everything that has not
been translated appears in the language in which it was first typed, better than nothing!
17APR2005
Following on a little trip to Normandy, in the beautiful region of le Cotentin, two galleries have been added.
One is a series of random sights, Bits of Cotentin, the other follows on the Bricklines
series and investigates more maritime and rural textures: Bricklines in Cotentin.
04FEB2005
The gallery structure has been changed, as we are looking forward to opening space to
some other photographers. The old galleries have now gone but known external links should
be redirected properly to the new locations. This still very much work in progress and we
hope you'll like the new format
30NOV2004
I'm proud to announce the start of a project that really feels like it will
generate very interesting results. With other members of the Royal Photography
Society, we will be sending a stereoscopic device made out of disposable
cameras around the world and see what pictures come back! Learn everything
about this on the 3D RTW disposable camera page
Hypernavigate : what is it all about?
Navigation is a key concept of the web, denoting the finding of a path
to some information. More often than never, the initial purpose of a web
navigation gets lost, transforming into an aimless wander, a rêverie. A
very similar feeling to the one I enjoyed when I was a kid, grabbing a
dictionary, looking up a word's definition and following to the definition of
any word in that definition, and so on.
The Hyper I've tacked before it to name this site extends this wandering to a more total approach. Anything is subject to exploration, navigation, discovery and dreaming. Surprises are there everywhere around us, and most of the time as easy to find as following hyperlinks on the web! Hypernavigate is the state of mind of being both actively curious and passively receptive to the world around that I tend to have when taking pictures.
